What do you think of a rug with occasional no pile?
I'm seriously considering finishing my Vogue rug without having all the "holes" filled.
I steamed it with them filled, didn't like the colour , painted it with dye, ( to watch me look at the video on the Mat) still didn't like the colour and removed it. I like those areas of linen showing...
I bet you are hoping this mood passes.
I feel like doing even more don'ts and that is very hard to resist.
love the rug Wanda - why not hook those spots with linen - linen threads from the backing. You could use perhaps 2 strands at a time.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think?

What an interesting concept! Maybe it is just a mood as you say. It makes me smile though!
ReplyDeleteThank-you for your compliment on my Mr. Chill snowman rug! Do you know how much it means to me to read those words from you? It makes me happy all over!!
( I'm wondering why I can't see why you are changing that part in the vogue. I did like it that way. )

You are funny. I think you like the light color of the background and of course it's texture. Maybe you could reproduce it on top of the empty spaces somehow. Did you really remove the painted parts? I kept thinking how is she not dripping dye all over the rug? Can't wait to find out how you solved it.
ReplyDeleteStephanie, I like the holes! They appear light and dark as they are in shadow sometimes, it is a delightful play! Wouldn't it be fun to put mirrors in there?
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteLove It!!!
My concern is "wear" if you use it on the floor...how about some of the black/taupe honeycomb wool...do you have any of that? It would mimic the light/dark holes. I could send you some if you don't have it and want to try...just holler! ~L
Laurie!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I'd like to test that wear theory. I'm more worried I might turn my ankle! I just like the idea of doing something different as you know.
LOL
