Day 31- Fits Right in

Here is some ply I made today! Happy New Year my friends, thanks for hanging out here.

Patricia's Week Four Update - Make a thing a day

Patricia included this note:

Hello Wanda,

Thanks for the invite to accomany you in Make A Thing a Day. We are almost finished the month. Of course we shall both continue to be creative.

The green bag is clever ... it is a t shirt I loved but worn out. I sewed across the bottom and cut the band & sleeves off (for the handles) and presto a very packable laundry (or tote) bag!

The rose garland you will regognize from TWM. I simply joined several together to make a garland.

I'll send you you my final creations in a few days.

Day 30 Cat Complex

This is a very boring time of year for cats.
After all the festivities life seems so lacklustre.
We had some boxes and Thea and I decided to build an entertaining establishment.

Day 29 - Spinning Straw into Gold

I feel like I'm in a fairy tale, Rumplestiltskin to be precise.
Today I 'm learning to spin on my Hansen Craft E-spinner. Today overspun silk, tomorrow straw into gold.

Day 28, Saving Face

When I'm out walking I run into some pretty stiff winds. My face and ears often suffer. Today I started a project which I hope will help. It is a neck cuff or cowl that will slip up over my face when needed and can act as a scarf when not.

Day 24,25,26,27

Oh boy!
I made many things these past days I've not been writing.
Three woolly heart cards, fixed up and decorated the slippers for Matt, I knit two more hats.
Here is one:
I gave all those things away! I snuck a snap of Vanessa for you.... I'm endeavouring to do better today and take a picture.

Day 23 Made this and that

Made a flower decoration for hat out of nylons, made skulls for something special ( you shoulda seen the first one ... Tim Burton's got nothing to worry about from me) and I made a gift certificate card!

Day 22- Mad as a hatter

Today I learned to knit a new stitch and make a hat.
Is anything as happy making as knitting in the round ?
I think not! Bernat's Roving was used , directions on the pgk.
All I need is some flash on it! Maybe tomorrow.

Patricia's Week Three Update - Make a thing a day

Here are the wonderful things Patricia made last week.
Sheep Cards
Greeting Cards
Hooked Fridge Magnets
Gift Basket
Cranberry Wreath
Angel Gift Tags
Cranberry Cereal Treats

Day 21 - A very satisfying fringe

I don't think anything has turned my crank like this felted fringe in quite a while. Look at the shadow it is casting!
There are still embellishments involving skulls to be completed.

Day 20- Wee Mouse

Tonight I wanted to make a wee mouse. I had a bit of white roving and some dyed pink.
I added some red beads and a shirt tail hem for a tail, his ears are made of the silky tag that carried the washing instructions for the shirt. I think Birdee likes him... she really does.

Me and Addi

Today me and Addi Turbo, an automatic knitting machine- you can see it on the right made the start of a double hat. When I'm out walking my dang ears nearly fall off some days, I hope this suri yarn, reported to be the world's warmest fibre, will save me.

Day 18 - Stalking

All day I wonder what I'll make and inevitably time slips away from me. I'm dog sitting so I go out for Mo time. I went skiing today too and I had a big craving for french onion soup which I had to make.... before I knew it it was 9:30 pm. I find the idea of what to create doesn't come no matter how much I think about it. It takes me picking up something in my hand, in this case it was a rectangle sample I knit to see how much a yarn I had would shrink.

So tonight I knit a little stocking with it and then hooked a roving cuff right thru the stitches. It was fun.

As you might have read or can see with your own more experienced eyes ... I'm no knitter. I had just used a garter stitch to knit a rectangle earlier in the week, then tonight I picked up five stitches on the end on one side and knit a few more rows and hooked the wooly cuff.. tada!

Day 17 - As the page turns

After a long week I'm looking forward to making the pages of my current book turn towards the front as I make my way to the back. Is that enough ? I hope so!
Meanwhile here is an inspiration for you to make a little something from items around the house. Click the link to see more and find out who is so creative! I love the light play.

Patricia's Week Two - Make a thing a day

Patricia sent these to me me way at the beginning of the week but I have not had a second until today to pop them up for you to see. I hope she forgives me!
It is so much fun seeing her creations I feel a bit like you might ... what will she think of next?
The Santa is Nov. free pattern on The Welcome Mat, look in the Resources group.
Well done Patricia!

Day 16 - Unreported due to ...

Well, I did make something yesterday and as you can see I'm ready to make anything I can think of , frame, rug, giant market basket and wooden bowl full of amazing goodies including the remote are all on stand by. The problem is having the mind set to think. I finished knitting the good ship Left Foot it measured up and I'll be felting these tomorrow.
Today I'm a tired girl from running around and frazzled from eating Pam's coffee spiked chocolate bark!

Day 14 - More Knitting

Officer Mary Supervisor looked on while I redid slipper one ( I guess I did give a ----) and got a leg up on number two.

Day 13 - It was a road closed snow day

Cut from regular paper this snowflake was pressed between sheets of waxed paper to stiffen.
I love making these! But I don't like shovelling the smaller versions.

Knitty Naughty

Today I made a simple slipper which I will felt and make a partner for.

Day 9- It's in the bag

Tonight I made a little gift bag by hooking through hookable wool with perl cotton and yarn to make the tree. i fused interfacing to the back to prevent accidental pull outs and give the bag body. I used the embellishment machine to add the star and trim on the bottom. I also fused the handle with it. Then stitched it on with perl cotton. Added some buttons and I was finished.

Day 8- A Rug Hooker's Delight

Behold the sweet treats to be served tomorrow at hook-in

Here are some other sweets baking in their own separate ovens right over the wood furnace, you could bake bread in those habitat things so high is the internal temperature.
No Celie did not get a coat change operation, that is our Hobo cat who makes himself right to home, invited or not. There must be a sign outside my door.

I just released the November free pattern on The Mat, a very sweet flying Santa!
Here is a partial view.
